Job Description Under general supervision of the Clinic Manager and guided by the policies and procedures of UCSF Medical Center, Ambulatory Services, and the Department of Ophthalmology, the Orthoptist will provide patient services under direct or indirect ophthalmologist supervision. The Orthoptist will see patients under the supervision of the attending pediatric ophthalmologist and will provide patient care and technical support for pediatric ophthalmology patients, adults with binocular vision problems, eye movement disorders and strabismus, as well as optometry screening clinics. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations Preferred Qualifications Demonstrates proficiency in electronic medical record documentation Two (2) years of experience as an Orthoptist in pediatric ophthalmology and/or adult strabismus clinic Required Licenses/Certifications CPR/BLS through AHA Orthoptist Certification through The American Orthoptic Council within two years of hire and maintained throughout tenure About Us About UCSF The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care. Salary Information The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
