Grant Accountant – Nonprofit Social Services (NYC)

About Our Client

Our client, a NYC-based nonprofit social services organization focused on government-funded community programs, is seeking a Grant Accountant to join their team in the NYC office.

Position highlights

• $60k-$75k salary

Key Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of roughly 10 grants and program budgets
• Partner with program teams to keep spending in line with budgets and program needs
• Work directly with city agencies and funders to resolve invoicing and budget questions
• Support budgeting, forecasting and grant tracking
• Join internal and external meetings about funding and program support
• Help keep funding moving across different programs and sources
• Adapt to the varying requirements of multiple funders

Qualifications

• 1+ years of relevant experience in a NYC social services or nonprofit setting
• Background working with NYC government funding agencies
• Hands-on experience with grant invoicing and/or budget management
• Strong communicator who works well cross-functionally with program teams
• Deeper grant experience is a plus
